Veteran journalist Pran Chopra dead

all indiaNew Delhi, Dec 23: Veteran journalist and former editor of The statesman newspaper Pran Chopra died Sunday following a short illness, his niece Manicka Chopra aforesaid. He was 92.

Chopra is survived by his wife and 2 daughters.

In his over sixty years as a journalist, Chopra was related to several newspapers, together with The Hindu and the apse.

He also brought out his own magazine, “The Citizen” and “The Weekend Review”, general secretary of Editor’s club of India Vijay Naik aforesaid.

Chopra was also a former member of the manager committee of the Editors’ guild of India.

He began his career with All India Radio.
