New Delhi, Sep 12, 2016: Authorities notifies GST Council. Following presidential assent final week to the GST Bill, the Union Finance Ministry on Monday notified the provisions of the Constitution Amendment Act that permits for organising the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council.
“The Central Authorities hereby appoints the 12th day of September, 2016 because the date on which the provisions of part 12 of the stated Act shall come into drive,” a ministry notification stated.

In response to the provisions of the Constitution Amendment Act, the GST Council must be arrange inside 60 days of its notification.
