Chennai, Jan 20: DMDK party leader A. Vijayakant Monday declared the sale of application forms for party intending to contest the Lok Sabha polls from announced and Puducherry.
He said the forms is bought from the party headquarters Jan 23 ahead. the form for general constituencies prices Rs.20,000, and Rs.10,000 for a reserved seat.
This comes as Vijayakant is being wooed by political parties for an electoral alliance.
In a statement issued here, Vijayakant aforesaid those who are envious of contesting in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu (39 seats) and Puducherry (one seat) may fill in and submit their forms by Feb 1.
Vijayakant aforesaid prospective candidates ought to be party functionaries or primary members.
Interestingly, DMK and BJP are wooing the DMDK for an electoral alliance.
DMK president M. Karunanidhi aforesaid that he would be happy if the DMDK aligns with his party for the general elections.
Vijayakant had earlier said DMDK’s stand (on whether it might form an alliance with another party for the final elections) would be announced Feb 2 at a party conference.
