CNN-News18 has learnt that Mumbai Police sources believe a WhatsApp voice note demanding ₹1 crore was sent to Singh’s manager. In the audio message, the sender allegedly threatened the actor and sought money as extortion. During a preliminary check, investigators found that the voice in the note resembles that of Harry Boxer.However, officials said that a detailed technical and forensic analysis is currently underway to confirm the identity of the sender.Investigators believe the message may have been routed from abroad using a VPN to hide its origin. Police have also sought assistance from Interpol to trace the source of the voice note. Further investigation is now underway.Meanwhile, the Crime Branch continues to investigate the firing outside Rohit Shetty’s residence. Five people- Aman Marote (27), Aditya Gayaki (19), Siddharth Yenpure (20), Samarth Pomaji (18) and Swapnil Sakat (23)- have been arrested in connection with the incident. Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Shubham Lonkar has been named as a wanted accused.The shooter allegedly used a high-quality country-made weapon and fired five rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. Police are working to determine whether the bullets were 7.62×39 mm or 7.62×51 mm through forensic analysis. Investigators believe the shooter was not acting alone and are probing the possible involvement of other gang members. The Crime Branch is also examining bank accounts, tracking financial transactions and recording statements from multiple witnesses.Besides this, Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma has also reportedly received a threat email. The threat email was sent to him on February 11.
